Hopefully you all had a safe and happy New Year’s Eve.
I have never been so excited to see January 1st. I’m ready to get 2014 started!
I think this is the first year that I am really going to focus on some goals. Not resolutions, but goals. Dream big!
2014 is going to be crazy busy. In order for me to have a successful year, I will need to stay healthy and be as close to injury free as possible. This means listening to my body a little more, maybe taking an extra rest day here and there. This also means more cross training/strength training. Which I guess is another goal all in itself. Actually doing my strength training that’s on the schedule. I will get better at this. Hopefully by the end of the year.
Since I have been selected to be a part of the Run this Year team! I want to run the year. I want to hit 2014 miles. I think it can totally happen. January’s theme for #runthisyear is to run determined. I headed out this morning with Twogees for a very snowy run. It was one of those no pressure runs! Just out enjoying the day and the company.
I have a lot of half marathons on my schedule and am fully confident that I could hit a PR this year. My current half PR is 1:50. For some reason I have my half in March in Moab as the potential PR course. I know the course. I know what I did on it last year, and I feel confident I will be in better shape this time. I’ll keep it on the radar.
My first marathon will be in May. Right now we’re in the middle of week 1 of marathon training. Hopefully this won’t be the only marathon of the year.
The biggest and MOST IMPORTANT goal for me of 2014 is what I am doing for the whole year. Raising money and awareness for the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. I have established my goal number for 2014. Let’s get this year going! Keep spreading the word and sharing my story!
Happy New Year from Two Little Feet!
