Marathon Training Week 1
For this marathon training cycle, I have chosen to go with a plan through Training Peaks.
It basically takes all of the guess work out of it for me and tells me almost exactly what to do and how much of an effort to do it at.
Like any good training plan today is day 1 and started off with a “rest day.”
The rest of the week looks like this:
Monday : 3 hilly miles. Core workout
Tuesday: 5 miles. Core workout. 45 minute lifting
Wednesday: 5 miles. Core workout
Thursday: 45 minute lifting
Friday: 5 mile tempo. Core workout
Saturday: 9 miles. Core workout
Saturday is my birthday and I already know we are going to Cody for the weekend so we can go skiing at Red Lodge. So we’ll probably leave here Friday night after work. So I’m already going to guess Friday and Saturday workouts are out. Unless I some how make it to the gym Friday morning. But I’ll be skiing/snowboarding on both Saturday and Sunday and those are both good cross training sessions.
Another short work week. Anyone have any exciting plans for the New Year? I’ve got a few resolutions!
